Best Sat. morning EVER!!
We went to a pancake breakfast at the Playa Vista firehouse on sat. morning. Rachelle, Isabella and Maddie live right near the station and invited us to join them. Our neighbors Becky and Allison met us there too. It was SOOO much fun. We got to check everything out AND eat delicious pancakes made by firemen. When we got there, Lily asked, "where's Papa mustache"? She really thought he was going to be there!! :( Matt dropped us off and went to LAX to pick up Dave Kreis. He flew in for the Cubs game (more on that later). We went in the bounce house, climbed on fire trucks, got lifted up by the car lifting air thingys, and even went up to see the bunks. They have real fire poles and everything. It's the nicest firehouse I've ever seen, everything is brand new. The firemen were so excited to show the kids around and were just all around nice guys. They were surprised when Lily asked to go on the ambulance. They told her it was locked, but she insisted. They went to get the EMT and he was so excited that someone wanted to see his bus! Lily showed him where her Papa Mustache drives and helps the people. (Dad, you would have busted something looking at this thing, it had like 3 computers!!) She liked that the stretcher had seat belts for the people who are hurt. The rest of the day, she was "helping me". I had to sit still while she put on my seat belt, cleaned my arm and put a bandage on it. Oh yeah, we got to ride on the old fashioned fire truck. Holy crap, the driver was so into it. He drove so fast. I have no pictures because I was holding on to my children for dear life. We were all screaming and making siren noises. It was a fun 90 seconds!! Seriously, dude took a corner going like 30MPH. Dave was very gracious and held Ben all day. Ben LOVES guys that are built like him! :) Here's some photos:
