The Ultimate Christmas Card Reject

Wow, trying to get toddlers to sit for a picture. Not easy. We went to the beach tonight to try to take a Christmas picture. We met Rachelle, Bella and Maddie there to swap photo taking with them. Here's a funny shot of them, but sadly not the worst:

A bunch of kids were sledding down the giant sand berm and one family shared their sled. This photo should be on Ellen or something as one of the best Christmas card rejects ever! We love ya Lil!

The girls came over for pizza afterward and we made and decorated Christmas cookies. Lily and Bella fell over snuggling goodbye and reminded me of this video I have of them. They did the same thing when they were about 17 months old and it was just so cute. I started to remember when Lily used to say "hold-u" (as one word) when she wanted to be picked up and she said it to Ben the first time she saw him in the hospital. I just thought about how many sweet things that we forget about and how sad it is. I need to start documenting these things one here so we can tell Lily and Ben about them when they're older. So, some things I don't want to forget: Tonight we said goodnight to the moon and Lily said, "it's broken again". She says this whenever the moon is half full. Sometimes we play spacemen and we travel through space in a rocket and wear moon-boots and go to fix the moon. This usually entails walking on our neighbors brick wall and jumping off of it saying "BLASTOFF"!! Ben is walking around saying "UH-OH, UH-OH".......all day. He says it while I'm putting him to bed. I have to sing him to sleep lately and his favorite song to fall asleep to is Shot In The Arm, by Wilco. We ask Lily each night if she wants Mama or Daddy to read her stories and it changes back and forth usually every other or every few nights. She'll say, "Ummmmmm, I choice Daddy". Ben colored his first picture yesterday and ate the tops off the crayons. He colored a super cute picture of Mickey Mouse AND had rainbow teeth. This will probably seem so trivial when we're helping the kids apply for college or deciding whether or not they're ready to take the car by themselves, but maybe it'll make us smile. :)
