Nana
Nana and Uncle Brian came to visit. My mom stayed for a week and Uncle Brian for the weekend. .....And Matt and I escaped to Palm Springs for Neil and Heather's wedding over said weekend. The kids did their best to work over the pair and wore them out pretty well. I fully expected to return to find my Mom and Brian tied up, back to back, walking a plank off the couch or something. Ben is still asking for Nana and Lily keeps talking about the beach with Uncle Bri. I could get used to having someone clean my house, cook, make dinner and watch the kids! Plus, she even played with my hair, no appointment necessary!
I forget how much people think we look alike. I'm used to hearing how much Lily looks like me...from strangers...every day. I forget how I used to get that with my Mom every day growing up. When she was here, people freaked out about it. Sometimes, like when we're ordering sandwiches, the person we're ordering from will look at her, then me, then Lil and back and forth. We just roll our eyes, in unison. :) This trip, when people said, oh my gosh, this must be your mom, I just replied: "Her? No, I just met her in the parking lot." Nobody bought it.
Baking a star cake for Gracie's first birthday:
Kite flying on campus. It was a team effort.
