Lobster Fest Part 3

The musicians at the party were amazing!! There were fiddles, guitars, mandolins, banjos and instruments that I don't know the names of. Just people sitting around, enjoying themselves and playing beautiful music. This was the perfect music to listen to and just relax and enjoy yourself. If I needed any more reason to practice for my guitar class, I got it!

Mel and Stacey

Lobster Fest Part 1

Our friends Mel and Stacey invited us to their 4th annual lobster fest. Mel has a boat and dives for lobsters every weekend of the season. He cooked and served over 200 Ginormous lobster tails. I have never seen anything like it. Stacey's back studio was filled with every kind of lobster dish you can imagine. My favorites were the tails, the lobster fried rice and the lobster cocktail. By far, one of the best food experiences of my life!

Sick Days

Our kids tend to get sick over holidays, which is good because we are off school/work. Poor Lily passed out on the couch Thursday night with a high fever. She woke up throughout the night to vomit and apologize for vomiting. It was so sad! She had a pajama day on Friday and watched the new Ariel movie (which is just terrible) about 6 times. She made a full recovery by Friday night and made up for any lost time by talking nonstop for 2 hours.

Just when we thought we were in the clear, Ben wakes up from an early nap on Sunday, hot as an oven. He just slept on us for a few hours and then seemed fine. After the Motrin wore off though, he got super hot and passed out again. Poor guy. He seems a lot better today, but we'll see.

A few thoughts

This is what happens when Laurie and I try to chat for 5 minutes:

Sillies

Ben has a sweet mullet going on, but we can't bring ourselves to cut off his baby curls.

Here's a better view of the hair. It's also a view of how much he looks like Uncle Jimmy when he watches t.v.

Sweet Emilia

Baby Emilia is the most beautiful little angel. I love to go see her and just smell her perfect little head. She is such a good baby and Laurie and Chris are amazing parents. It feels like she's always been here. Lily still refers to her as Tigerlily and refuses to let anyone else call her anything different.

Look how beautiful she is:

This was a newborn size diaper I had stashed away. It was HUGE on her!

Wasn't Lily this big like 5 minutes ago??

Even Ben was super gentle with Emilia. She has magical powers.

Mother's Day Tea '09

We have a SUPER fancy Mother's Day Tea at Lily's school. I went all out last year and wore my fancy dress (from Jimmy and Molly's wedding). This year, a couple of mom's tried to out-do me, but failed miserably. :) We were the fanciest ladies and enjoyed our extra special tea. Lily made me the best necklace I have ever seen!

Potty Training

We are in the throws of potty training Ben. I thought boys didn't potty train until they were in their teens, so I was super surprised when he wanted to sit on the potty and actually went! Ben was trying out some big kid undies and well.........it's self explanatory. Matt should be writing this, he took these....and laughed for days....

Circus Sundaes

Matt made the best Circus Sundaes for the kids (and Kai). Tom used to make them for Matt and Jimmy when they were kids. Matt used ice cream, sprinkles, bananas and chocolate. He tried to melt chocolate chips to pour over them, but it just solidified when it hit the ice cream. The kids didn't mind.

Can you guess which one was "Bad Batman?"

Random days

Lily does ballet ALL the time. This is an arabesque in the produce aisle at Ralph's. :)

Ziggy Marley

Ziggy Marley played at a fundraiser for an elementary school a few blocks from us. Ziggy!!! For $5!!! It's crazy!

Lily and Bella, waiting in line forever for face painting. Bella eventually gave up and left. Lily will wait 6 hours for face painting. She does not care. Whatever it takes to get a flamingo on her face or a fairy on her arm. Insane.

Ziggy!!! Check out that guitar!! He has a new family album out that is wonderful. Matt got it for me for Mother's Day. Before we even got the new c.d., Lily was already singing the song, "Cry, cry, cry." She can tell Ziggy from Bob now and even taught Ben how to say Bob. Ben likes to dance to the music too. He sometimes hides and dances. It's pretty funny.
